The U.S. Army Golden Knights to Descend on the Chicago Air & Water Show
The U.S Army Golden Knights have been perennial favorites at the Chicago Air & Water Show and return again this year. The team was formed in 1959 as a competition team but has been thrilling crowds at airshows for decades. The team will perform several jumps each day during the show highlighting their capabilities. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to see these capabilities first hand. On the first day of the show I joined them in their Fokker CA-31 Troopship and enjoyed watching them jump for 10,500 feet above North Avenue Beach at show center. This was a team of soldiers that love their jobs and I knew I needed to experience a jump with them.
On Saturday the U.S. Army Golden Knights have invited former Chicago Bear Charles "Peanut" Tillman to do a tandem jump into the air show.
Luckily enough shortly after the Chicago Air & Water Show they invited me out to join them for a tandem jump with the team. Check out this post to see what it is like to jump with the U.S. Army Golden Knights.
